Although often marked as a ceremonial business practice, feedback has the potential to be one of the most powerful tools to improve job performance. Without feedback, you’re walking blindly. At best, you’ll accidentally reach your goal. At worst, you’ll continue to make the same mistakes over and over again.

In the transportation industry, repeating the same mistake can mean the difference between life and death. It’s the reason so many transportation companies turn the Lytx DriveCam™ Program.

Ninety percent of all collisions involve some sort of driver error. That’s why the DriveCam® Program focuses on providing just the right feedback that improves driver behavior and increases driver safety. In fact, DriveCam’s video event recorder enables the identification of both collisions and near collisions that could have been avoided. Through research and analysis of Lytx’s millions of miles of data, Lytx mapped nearly 200 bus collisions and near collisions that occurred between January 2010 and June 2011 in the Chicago area. It was determined that the majority of collisions and near collisions that occurred at intersections could be attributed to poor driver awareness.

Lytx knows that it’s not enough to pinpoint risky behavior, but meaningful feedback must be delivered in a timely manner and include meaningful feedback to improve driver performance. It’s this type of consistent program across an entire fleet that Lytx is able to help clients reduce fuel and maintenance costs and, most importantly, prevent collisions and save lives.
