~ Video Highlights Innovative DriveCam Program, Depicting Truck Driver’s Quick Action to Help Mother & Child Avoid Collision ~

March 16, 2015 – SAN DIEGO – Lytx™, Inc., the global leader in video-based driver safety technology, today announced receiving a silver “Addy” award from the San Diego Ad Club for its emotional and dramatic Destination video, conceived and produced by Emota, Inc. The video underscores the importance of combining technology and coaching for professional drivers through a compelling depiction of a truck driver’s quick-thinking to help a mother and child in another car narrowly avoid being hit head-on by a driver heading in the wrong direction. The video shows the incident captured by Lytx’s patented DriveCam Program®, and illustrates how coaching and positive behavior change effectively improves drivers’ skills and save lives.

The video, features a woman and child in a car attempting to pass a long-haul tractor-trailer. When the truck driver sees an oncoming wrong-way vehicle cross over the yellow lines and swerve wildly toward him, he instinctively uses his DriveCam training to hit the brakes and slow his truck quickly so that the passing vehicle can pull back into the original lane safely ahead of him. The video later shows the truck driver receiving high marks from his fleet coach, who was able to fully understand the event because it was captured as part of the DriveCam Program.

DriveCam identifies and addresses the causes of risky driving behavior by capturing data from multiple technologies and sensors and combining it with predictive analytics to help our clients be safer on the roads every day. Sensors provide real-time feedback to the driver and risky driving behaviors are uploaded via the wireless network to the Company’s expert reviewers where they are analyzed, scored and posted to a secure website for driver coaching and improvement.

Destination was conceived and produced by San Diego-based video content agency Emota as part of Lytx’s marketing campaign for its new DC Highway Program, a version of Lytx’s DriveCam® Program tailored specifically to long-haul trucking fleets, and designed to deliver rapid ROI for trucking clients.

The annual Addy awards were announced at a gala in San Diego this month, and are given in conjunction with the American Advertising Federation. The San Diego Ad Club received 290 entries in 16 categories. Destination took silver in the Digital Advertising category and will be now be competing against others in this category at the regional level.
