Superior Data Drives Travel de Courcey To Adopt Lytx DriveCam™ Video Telematics Programme


Head-to-Head Trial Revealed Lytx’s Exceptional Data Usability and High-Value Results

LONDON (15 November, 2016) – Lytx DriveCam’s best-in-class data and precise insights about driver behaviour delivered high-value results for Travel de Courcey, an award-winning coach and bus company with an intense focus on using technology to improve its fleet operations.

The Lytx DriveCam safety programme is a comprehensive video telematics solution that combines video capture of road incidents such as hard braking or sudden swerving, data analysis of those incidents, and personalised coaching insights to enable managers fleets to improve driving behaviour to help prevent those incidents. The net result is reductions of collision-related costs by up to 80 percent.

Travel de Courcey engaged in a head-to-head trial with multiple video telematics vendors to determine which was not only a good fit for their innovation culture, but also which would best power its driver mentoring programme to produce improved safety.

Travel de Courcey already had an excellent safety record before the trial began, but knew there was room to improve. Since beginning the Lytx DriveCam safety programme, the company has experienced a 46 percent reduction in frequency of driver events, and a 44 percent reduction in event severity, further elevating their status as a safe and inspirational fleet.

“We liked that the Lytx DriveCam data produced complete transparency about our fleet – we didn’t just know that an event occurred, but we also knew the root cause of the event. Other systems were too ambiguous to deliver the information our drivers needed to prevent a reoccurrence of events,” said de Courcey.

According to de Courcey, Lytx also went above and beyond to help properly onboard the system and to help drivers understand how the DriveCam® programme aimed to protect them.

“Passengers place their lives in the hands of our drivers, and our drivers needed to know that in the event of a fraudulent claim, we have their backs, too,” he said.
