Veriha Trucking to Outfit Entire Fleet with DriveCam

Oct 21/2013 PRESS RELEASE

Oct. 22, 2013  – DriveCam, Inc., a global driver risk management company, today announced that Wisconsin-based Veriha Trucking has signed a multi-year contract to roll out the DriveCam solution to its entire fleet.  Veriha Trucking joins DriveCam’s growing roster of   transportation and logistics customers, including Cargo Transporters and Salmon Companies

As part of Veriha Trucking’s ongoing initiative to improve fleet operations, the DriveCam Program is being implemented to increase good driving behavior, identify and eliminate problem driving and reduce risk.

A two-month trial of the DriveCam solution by Veriha Trucking resulted in data showing a compelling reduction of risk, resulting in exonerations for the primarily dry van operation.

“We are focused on continuous improvement in our fleet and driver safety levels, and in pursuit of this goal chose to implement the DriveCam solution,” said Veriha Trucking Safety Manager Greg Hall. “We felt that DriveCam has the resources to support us. Our drivers are seeing more clearly where the risks are, as well as where they need improvement.”

“Like many transportation-based companies, Veriha Trucking was looking for ways to recognize and promote good driving behavior,” said DriveCam Senior Business Manager Adam McCarty. “DriveCam’s services are helping them identify potential problem driving, provide immediate coaching to address it, which leads to better drivers who can then be rewarded for their safe driving practices.  Everyone wins. ”

The DriveCam Program addresses safety by combining data and video analytics with real-time driver feedback and coaching, resulting in reductions in cost and fuel consumption. Through a patented, iterative process of scoring, prioritizing and tracking the results of driving behaviors, DriveCam’s Driver Science Engine identifies behavioral improvement opportunities for increased safety. In-cab video captures driving behavior, which is objectively reviewed and scored, then passed on to the fleet for use in coaching drivers.

Fleets manage the DriveCam Program through DriveCam Online, a web-based online portal. Seamlessly integrated into DriveCam’s DC3 video event recorder and the DriveCam Online reporting solution, DriveCam’s Fuel Management Solution combines real-time, in-cab feedback with online reporting and coaching to improve fuel efficiency – by up to 12 percent – and lower emissions.  Unlike other vehicle-centric fuel solutions, DriveCam’s solution focuses on the driver – specifically on the three driving behaviors that have the greatest impact on fuel efficiency: efficient or “smooth” driving, idling and speeding.
