Risk ID Without Recording. This feature is designed to detect risky driving behaviors without continuous video recording. When configured by the fleet, it can help surface relevant safety signals, while reducing the video capture of the drivers. Both goals can be supported at once, and we designed with that balance in mind.
Dynamic Adjust for Illinois Restrictions. This feature creates a custom geofence around the borders of Illinois that disables in-cab machine vision and artificial intelligence (MV+AI) when a vehicle enters the state and re-enables it upon exit. This provides an additional configuration option for fleets driving in Illinois, underscoring Lytx’s commitment to delivering configurable features that empower customers to meet their evolving needs.
Conceal Service. Conceal Service uses blurring technology to automatically obscure faces and license plates in video footage. For fleets operating under strict privacy regimes, or simply handling sensitive routes, this keeps the safety insight and limits the access to personal data.
Data Disassociation: Separating Insight from Identity
Not every privacy control lives in the camera. Some of the most important ones live in how we handle data after it's collected. A fleet can configure the Lytx platform to retain certain driver and vehicle information for only the time needed to coach the driver. The de-identified, statistical data still gives fleets and Lytx the ability to spot trends and benchmark performance, but it does so without carrying personal information along with it.
Separating the insight from the identity is what lets Lytx generate valuable data responsibly.
Self-Service Capabilities: Putting More Control in Drivers' Hands
Privacy leadership isn't only about what Lytx controls. It's also about what we hand off to the people the technology affects most, starting with drivers.
Self-Coaching sends lower-severity events directly to drivers for a short, guided review they complete on their own, rather than sending every moment to a manager. Fleets set the thresholds that decide what a driver handles independently versus what escalates to a real coaching conversation, so oversight scales to the behavior instead of defaulting to constant human review of everyone's footage.
We've extended that same self-service principle to identity verification. Facial ID and Consent Management lets drivers give or revoke consent themselves through a secure link. There are no printed forms and no manual scanning. Fleets get verified driver identity where they need it. And drivers get a direct, transparent say in that process.
Privacy isn't one-size-fits-all, and it shouldn't be treated that way by the video safety vendor.
Privacy And Security Are Two Sides of the Same Coin
Configurable privacy only means something if the data underneath it is actually protected. We built our platform on Amazon Web Services (AWS), using its encryption, access control, and monitoring to add another layer of protection around customer and driver data.
